About the University of Dayton

The University of Dayton (UD) is a top-tier private Catholic research university located in Dayton, Ohio, with academic offerings from the undergraduate to the doctoral level. Founded in 1850, UD is a diverse community that is dedicated, in the Marianist tradition, to educating the whole person as well as connecting learning and scholarship with leadership and service.

The goal of the university is to provide an education that transforms you from a person who knows what the world needs into an active participant in shaping it. We accomplish this goal in part by fostering deep educational connections among students, businesses and alumni partners.

At UD, you will prepare to lead through service to others. This focus on service springs from our Catholic, Marianist belief in what people can accomplish together.

The School of Business Administration

The School of Business Administration puts the university’s Catholic and Marianist values into practice through an innovative business curriculum designed to prepare you to become an ethical leader. The goal of the School is to help you pursue a successful career in the global business environment by providing you with a collaborative, experiential business education. As a graduate, you will be armed with the practical wisdom to make an impact on your organization and your community.

The UD School of Business Administration is accredited by AACSB International, the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business. To achieve accreditation, business programs must meet quality standards that relate to resource management, faculty/student interaction and achievement of learning goals.

Take a look at some of the factors that make UD so unique:

Top-Tier Catholic University

Founded in 1850 by the Society of Mary (the Marianists), a group of visionary leaders who knew that consistent change was necessary for constant growth, the university has grown into a top-tier Catholic university.

Top-20 Entrepreneurship Program

The School of Business Administration’s entrepreneurship program has been ranked among the top 20 in the nation for 11 straight years by The Princeton Review and Entrepreneur magazine.

Industry Partnerships

The University is pioneering partnerships with visionary companies. GE Aviation and Emerson built research facilities right on campus so our students and faculty work side-by-side with professionals to create solutions to real-world problems.

Stellar Students

UD students are bold thinkers and servant leaders who use their talents to make a positive impact on the world. Our 89 percent on-campus retention rate shows that students love UD.

Sustainable Focus

Our master’s degree program in renewable and clean energy is an international attraction — bringing three Fulbright scholars to the program at the same time.

Voice for the Voiceless

We were the first university to establish an undergraduate program in human rights studies, and our Human Rights Center creates positive change through research, education and dialogue.

Storied Athletics

The Flyers compete at the NCAA Division I level, and 10 teams have advanced to the postseason in the last decade: baseball, men’s and women’s basketball, men’s cross country, football, men’s and women’s soccer, women’s track and field (indoor and outdoor), and volleyball. Our basketball teams reached the Elite Eight in 2014 (men) and 2015 (women).
