MBA@Dayton GMAT Waiver Policy
At the University of Dayton, our ultimate goal is for our students to succeed, and we believe that academic records and professional experience are strong predictors of future success. That’s why MBA@Dayton waives the GMAT/GRE requirement for qualified applicants.
If the admission committee can tell from your application and experience that you have the necessary skills, we do not need GMAT or GRE scores as additional proof. However, GMAT/GRE scores are a way for applicants with less experience to demonstrate their potential to succeed in our programs and beyond graduation.
Do You Qualify for a GMAT Waiver?
You must have one of the following:
- a minimum 3.0 undergraduate GPA
- three or more years of professional full-time work experience, not including internships
How to Request a GMAT Waiver
If you believe you qualify for a waiver, you do not need to submit any additional forms. After you submit your online MBA application and all required documents, the admission committee will review them and determine whether they need additional information, proof of experience or GMAT/GRE scores. If they do, you will receive a request to send them additional materials.

If the GMAT/GRE is not required for me, may I submit a score report with my application anyway?
Yes, if you believe it will positively impact your application. We will consider all application materials you send us.
Are applicants who do not take the GMAT/GRE at a disadvantage in the admission process?
If you qualify for a waiver, you do not put yourself at a disadvantage by not submitting scores. However, we may request additional information including test scores if we need further clarity to make an admission decision.
How do you define the amount of full-time work experience needed to obtain a GMAT/GRE waiver?
We require three years of continuous, relevant, professional work experience of a certain quality. While internships can be valuable experiences, we do not include these as part of the GMAT/GRE waiver consideration.
What happens if the admission committee determines that I will need to submit GMAT/GRE scores?
After submitting your complete application, the admission committee may request that you submit GMAT/GRE scores. This does not mean that you will be denied admission, but rather that the committee needs more information to make a decision. If you are asked to submit scores, you have up to one year to send them to the University of Dayton. After that, you will have to reapply.
